The Drunken Hearts

From their humble inception as an acoustic trio, The Drunken Hearts have evolved into an electric five-piece that is captivating audiences across the country. In those few years, the Colorado-based group has managed to make a name for itself in a state that is known for cultivating world-class music. The band fearlessly bottles a tempestuous, yet honest brand of Americana music — infusing spirited vocals with electric and acoustic instruments, and crafting heartfelt songs that are resonating with crowds everywhere.

Originally an outlet for lead singer and acoustic guitarist, Andrew McConathy, he knew in his heart the band must expand musically to satisfy a growing songbook of original material. It was this ideal that inspired a band capable of writing and performing songs that convey whispers of love and loss, while also delivering full-on rock anthems that chase down the American dream.

With this evolution, the band is releasing their most acclaimed album to date, The Prize, in March of 2018 — an album that fully realizes the unique yet familiar sound the five musicians evoke when they create and perform together night after night. The ten songs featured on The Prize seamlessly unite their poetic and thoughtful songwriting with impressive musicianship to bring each track alive. From the vulnerable and haunting, “Seasons,” to the rowdy honkytonk-inspired “Broken Things,” The Prize is a powerful statement to where The Drunken Hearts currently are, yet more importantly— where they are going.

Building on the release of The Prize, the band is touring the country from coast-to-coast, with stops at famed venues and festivals along the way. With notable performances at Electric Forest (MI), FloydFest (VA), Vertex (CO), Fayetteville Roots Fest (AR), Hangtown Music Festival (CA), Bohemian Nights at New West Fest (CO), Northwest String Summit (OR), and the band’s very own YarmonyGrass (CO), the band is very much at home on the festival circuit. Tyra Sutak of Elevation Outdoors Magazine described her experience as “Magnetic. It’s one of the only words my buddy and I could agree on to describe the feeling of the first time we caught Colorado-based band, The Drunken Hearts, live.”

Hawthorne Roots

The Hawthorne Roots are a 4-time award winning, sister led band from Bozeman, Montana. The group brings a soulful and energetic performance to the stage, every lyric sung with passion and authenticity. Their original material explores different emotions and pushes the boundaries of Americana music. Their uniquely branded “Revved Up Soul” genre has gained momentum and admiration within the northwest community and beyond.

The Hawthorne Roots formed in 2014 and began touring in 2016. Their sound grew with each change in lineup until the current 5-piece formed and found their groove. The original lineup includes songwriters Madeline Kelly (vocals, rhythm guitar), Emma Kelly (vocals) and Michael DeJaynes (drums, vocals). With the addition of Lucas Mace on lead guitar in 2015 the group began to tour in the western region hitting the Boulder and Denver music scene in Colorado. When Dustin Crowson (bass guitar) came on board in November of 2016 the songs came to life in a way that excited both the band members and their fans. The group continued to expand their region, returning to Denver, hitting Portland, OR and expanding to areas of Idaho, Wyoming and Washington.

The Hawthorne Roots are independently managed by group founder Madeline Kelly and marketed by sister Emma Kelly. Every member of the band is committed to taking this project as far as it will go with hopes to find representation and support to tour nationally and internationally, as well as to play major festivals. When formed in 2014, the majority of songs came from Madeline Kelly. Now the band has begun to experiment in co-writing material and delving into rock n’ roll. When Lucas Mace joined the band on lead guitar the entire dynamic changed. His electrifying licks and impeccable tone brought a new energy to the sound. Co-written material by Lucas and Madeline has resulted in an exciting shift of their sound and style.

They spent the winter, spring, and summer of 2017 touring heavily in the western region. The band is currently in the studio working on a self-produced EP showcasing their new sound. The music of The Hawthorne Roots comes straight from the heart. Stay tuned and keep in touch.
